Project Overview

Exploring Passion through Print Layout Design

This project challenged me to creatively organize and present a topic I’m personally passionate about as a user and consumer in the format of a guidebook. I chose to create Retro Revive, a visually-driven guidebook that explores the world of thrifting which is a passion of mine. Having recently moved to the Sacramento area, I wanted to explore and showcase the thrift shopping scene within this area.

Project Approach

A Guide to Thrifting in Sacramento County

Inspired by vintage aesthetics, I drew from mid-century modern design to shape the overall visual direction of the guidebook. I incorporated a retro color palette and typography to evoke a nostalgic yet contemporary feel. All photography featured in the guidebook was captured and edited by me, ensuring a cohesive visual narrative. Additionally, I designed a custom icon system to highlight the variety of products sold at each shop, ranging from women’s and men’s clothing to accessories and furniture.
